  2. SYNTAX OF C
  3. FIRST C PROGRAM
  4. KEYWORD
  5. DATA TYPE
  6. VARIABLE
  7. IDENTIFIER
  8. OPERATOR

1. INTRODUCTION TO C

C is a middle-level procedual oriented programming language developed by Dennis Ritchie at AT’s & T Bell Laboratories in the year 1972 in USA.

C is used for designing system program, compiler and operating system

2. SYNTAX OF C

#include<stdio.h>
#include<conio.h>

void main()
{
// STATEMENT
}

Note : # is pre-processor, stdio stands for standard input output which hold predefined function, conio stands for console input output, .h is extension which represent header file.

For output we use printf
For input we use scanf
printf and scanf are predefined function of stdio.h

3. FIRST C PROGRAM

#include<stdio.h>
#include<conio.h>

void main ( )
{
printf(“Hello World”);
getch();
}

getch() is predefined function of conio.h which holds the screen while displaying output.

4. KEYWORD

Keyword is a reserved word whose meaning is already defined in the compiler.

Compiler is a system program which converts middle level or high level programming language into low level language (Machine Language).
To see the result of our program written in C we will use Turbo C compiler.
